Shopping List
- 1 cedar fence picket
- 1 1/4" finish nails
- wood glue
Cut List
- 1 - 8" bottom piece
- 2 - 10" side pieces
- 5 - 9" for front and back slats - then rip to 1 3/4" (will have 10 total after ripping) I would recommend ripping before cutting down to avoid too small of pieces to run through the table saw

- pencil
- safety glasses
- hearing protection
- compound miter saw
- table saw

- sander
Step-by-step Instructions
Step 1
Attach the sides to the bottom.

Step 2
Attach the top and bottom slats to the frame, then center the middle slat and attach with brad nails and glue.

Step 3
Center the remaining slats in the open spaces and attach.

Finishing
Sand all surfaces, starting with a medium grit and finishing with fine. Wipe off the dust, fill any holes or gaps with wood filler, and sand smooth once dry. Apply primer if you're painting, then finish with your choice of paint or stain and seal with a durable clear topcoat. For outdoor projects, use exterior-rated primer, paint or stain, and sealer so the piece stands up to the weather.
