Step-by-step Instructions
Drill a 1-1/2" pocket hole on each end of every 2x2 except for the legs.
Build four leg sets as shown in diagram, using glue and 2-1/2" pocket hole screws.

Step 2
On two of the leg sets, add the shelf trim pieces.

Step 3
Attach the two center leg sets together with the shelf trim pieces.

Measure and cut the plywood with a cicular saw or table saw.
Drill 3/4" pocket holes around all sides. Attach inside the 2x2 openings with 1-1/4" pocket hole screws.

Step 5
Attach remaining leg sets to the center storage area with 2x2s.

Place the hollow core door on top.
I used leftover 2-1/2" pocket hole screws (you'll only need a few) to attach the door to the frame from the underside.

Finishing
Sand all surfaces, starting with a medium grit and finishing with fine. Wipe off the dust, fill any holes or gaps with wood filler, and sand smooth once dry. Apply primer if you're painting, then finish with your choice of paint or stain and seal with a durable clear topcoat. For outdoor projects, use exterior-rated primer, paint or stain, and sealer so the piece stands up to the weather.
