Step-by-step Instructions
Step 1
Attach legs to underside of 2x6, edges flush to outside of 2x6. We used 1-1/2" pocket holes and 2-1/2" pocket hole screws - very sturdy this way.

Step 2
Attach top support - you may find it easier to drill out the hole for the all-thread before attaching the supports.

Step 3
Do the same for the lower support.

Step 4
1x4s are set on top of the bottom support. Screws (2" length) or nail down.

Step 5

Tabletop can then be attach to 2x6s.
Toliy used two layers of plywood to make his tabletop.

Finishing
Sand all surfaces, starting with a medium grit and finishing with fine. Wipe off the dust, fill any holes or gaps with wood filler, and sand smooth once dry. Apply primer if you're painting, then finish with your choice of paint or stain and seal with a durable clear topcoat. For outdoor projects, use exterior-rated primer, paint or stain, and sealer so the piece stands up to the weather.
