Step-by-step Instructions
Step 1
Cut the boards for the legs with a saw - preferably a compound miter saw or chop saw, but you can also use a circular saw or jigsaw (use a square as a guide to make sure you get nice square cuts). Drill two 3/4" pocket holes on each end of the short 1x3 boards. TIP: Also drill holes facing upward on the top 1x3 boards for attaching tabletop in later steps. Attach to legs with 1-1/4" pocket holes. Build two.

Drill two pocket holes on each end of the 1x3 boards.
TIP: Also drill 3/4" pocket holes facing upward to attach the top in later steps. Attach to legs to complete the table frame.

Attach top using the predrilled pocket holes with 1-1/4" pocket hole screws.
This completes the table. Set aside.

Step 4
Build two of the cart face frames as shown.

Step 5

Step 6
You'll need something on the bottom. I used scrap plywood pieces, but you can use 1x4s, 1x6, 1x8, 1x10 or similar. You can also use a full piece of 1/4" or 1/2" plywood nailed and glued to the bottom.

Step 7
Attach caster wheels to the base of the cart.

Step 8
Position the cart inside the table and install drawer slides.

Finishing
Sand all surfaces, starting with a medium grit and finishing with fine. Wipe off the dust, fill any holes or gaps with wood filler, and sand smooth once dry. Apply primer if you're painting, then finish with your choice of paint or stain and seal with a durable clear topcoat. For outdoor projects, use exterior-rated primer, paint or stain, and sealer so the piece stands up to the weather.
