Pocket Hole Technique
• -Set pocket hole jig and drill bit collar to the 1-1/2" setting • on the leg 2x2 pieces (5-1/2" long), drill one pocket hole facing up, and one facing down, on the same side of the leg • attach the leg to the longest 2x2s, so the pocket holes are all on the same side • attach the legs to the bottom piece, with pocket holes oriented to the back side, so not visible from the front

Finishing
Sand all surfaces, starting with a medium grit and finishing with fine. Wipe off the dust, fill any holes or gaps with wood filler, and sand smooth once dry. Apply primer if you're painting, then finish with your choice of paint or stain and seal with a durable clear topcoat. For outdoor projects, use exterior-rated primer, paint or stain, and sealer so the piece stands up to the weather.
