Step-by-step Instructions
Step 1
Follow the directions to make the two side benches for the queen.

Step 2
Frame up the end bench with plywood and the 1x4 bottom pieces. Use 3/4" pocket holes and 1-1/4" pocket hole screws. Also drill pocket holes facing forward on the outsides of the sides and top (will be hidden later) for attaching the face frame in later steps.

Step 3
Build face frame with 3/4" pocket holes and 1-1/4" pocket hole screws and glue. Attach finished face frame to front of cabinet through the pocket holes drilled in previous step. Also use 1-1/4" nails and glue to attach to bottom footer.

Step 4
Attach 1x material to sides - these sides will be visible. Use 1-1/4" nails and wood glue.

Step 6
Attach drawer faces to front of drawer boxes with 3/4" finish nails and glue.

Step 7
Frame center "leg" and place in middle on assembly. Screw slats to center leg as well as side cleats.

Finishing
Sand all surfaces, starting with a medium grit and finishing with fine. Wipe off the dust, fill any holes or gaps with wood filler, and sand smooth once dry. Apply primer if you're painting, then finish with your choice of paint or stain and seal with a durable clear topcoat. For outdoor projects, use exterior-rated primer, paint or stain, and sealer so the piece stands up to the weather.
