Dimensions
Use the size-specific shopping and cut lists below.

Shopping List
- 1 - 1x6 board, 8 feet long
- 8 - single hooks
- 2 - 4" Corner Braces with Screws

Cut List
- cut the 1x6 board in half, into two equal pieces - may need to be 47-3/4" long to get both pieces from the same board
Tools
- measuring tape
- square
- pencil
- drill
- circular saw
Step-by-step Instructions
Step 1
First, cut your 1x6 in half. Sometimes 1x6 boards are exactly 8 feet long, if this is your case, cut two pieces at 47-3/4". If your 1x6 is longer, then cut two pieces at 48". An easy way to do this is measure in from both sides 48" and mark. Then make the saw blade cut between the marks. NOTE: You can always make the shelf shorter, just make sure the two 1x6 pieces are the same length.

Step 2
Place the brackets on the outsides and attach.

Step 3
Layout your hooks and attach.

Step 4
Locate two studs in the wall, mark. Hang the shelf on one stud. Use a level to level up, then attach to second stud.

Finishing
Sand all surfaces, starting with a medium grit and finishing with fine. Wipe off the dust, fill any holes or gaps with wood filler, and sand smooth once dry. Apply primer if you're painting, then finish with your choice of paint or stain and seal with a durable clear topcoat. For outdoor projects, use exterior-rated primer, paint or stain, and sealer so the piece stands up to the weather.
